I spent all day today updating the blog. I wanted it to look like I'd been blogging for 12 whole months rather than a week so every page has gotten an overhaul. Check out the "Flakey Goodness" links in the sidebar for a peak at the new pages!
I started blogging last November and didn't expect much of myself. However, 12 months later I've forced a sick perfectionist regime on this humble website and am always looking over into neighboring webpages to make sure I'm keeping pace. I've been surprised at how varied the blogs out there are. Some that started when I did last November ended on their first post. Others have gone on to become certifiably famous and have a couple thousand visitors a day after only a year's time. I want to know these blogs' secret. I want their traffic, their sponsors and their posh Park Avenue domains.
So every day I claw for validation. I email my website to directory services, woman's publications, humor websites, anyone I think that may provide me with that sweet acknowledging link. I've read about people like me. We're generally looked down upon on the blogging world. Supposedly, blogs are about content, not connections. But I don't agree. I'm not going to spend hours on the computer away from my kid and husband just to write for myself. I want to be read. I want to be rich. I want to jump on Oprah's couch.
Thanks to everyone who comes and reads the blog. It makes my little day, really it does. Like it says on top of the blog - hopefully you'll be getting your million bucks soon. I'm doing all I can to make sure you do!
