The Horror of Little Girls

Is nothing sacred? I came into my toddler's room today to find The Grinch had been dressed up in a froo-froo dress looking like he was about to host Minnie Mouse for tea. Can the XX chromosomes be stopped from this senseless onslaught of cuteness? Pardon the disturbing graphic images that follow. I was just as shocked as you are. Pixie, you are one sick little girl...

Better her Grinch doll than her younger brother. If my "baby" survives his older sister without being gender-confused it will be a miracle of biblical proportion.

I gave my oldest son a doll when I was pregnant w/#2 so he could practice his swadling and diaper changing skills. He ended up sword fighting with it instead so I took it away. Ahhh...to have a girl...how would it be...

If it makes you feel any better, I used to dress the cat up in my old baby clothes. The nice thing about Grinches... No claws...

I think the Grinch looks rather charming in pink frills, and the grin on his face certainly indicates that he enjoys dressing in drag. ;)

Thanks goodness he's a stuffed animal. Imagine what horrors could be created with a cat or dog! ;-)

Grace and Lille loved dressing up Max, and having him put on princess clothes. Nothing like seeing your only boy in a household of 3 girls playing with dolls and wearing a yellow Belle dress (ouch!) I tried to resist, and then just finally accepted that with two older sisters influencing the boy, Max is going to enjoy playing and being accepted in whatever capacity they allow him to. I still cringe when I see him bring his sister's purple satin nightgown begging us to put it on him for bed...and then Catherine does it with the phrase, "He really likes the way it feels!" There is just something about seeing your 1.5 year old stretched out in the crib sound asleep, smiling, and wearing a purple nightgown. Any time I could succeed in getting some good old Dallas Cowboys or Masculin dinosaur jammies on the kid, I would consider it a victory and hopefully one step further away from a future of cross-dressing.
