I Saw You

When Cher turned 6 weeks old last Wednesday, I decided it was time to get serious about losing the baby weight. My husband has a bag of mini candy bars on his dresser that I've been living off of for the past two months but for 8 days now, I've been clean.

It hasn't been easy. I wasn't quite sure how to express my attachment to these sweet treats but luckily, I found a medium to create my ode. Here's my video:

No, I didn't make the entire video myself. You just have to upload your photos into a template at Greetingflix.com (my fun internet find of the week) and they do the rest. Their website doesn't have many templates and the ones they do have are really cheesy, but it's fun, free and very easy to find ways to make fun of their sappiness. A word to the wise: don't bother upgrading to the Pro account - the website appears to be just getting started and there aren't many templates yet. It's a great idea though.

But I do miss my sweets. Last night I bought 60 dollars worth of Sugar-free Chocolate Calcium Chews at Costco to replace them but it's not the same. I think I would rather die of osteoporosis at age 50 with a mouth full of chocolate than be unbreakable and crabby at 100. But I will be strong...

I couldn't part with the chocolate...you are strong! I decided I would eat very healthy all week and then once a week, I would have a free meal (with dessert of course). It helps me keep my sanity ;) Best of Luck!

I consider having only three oreos at a time a diet, as opposed to the entire package in one sitting.

Best post ever! That was awesome.

As a diabetic, I feel your pain.

I'm with you on this one. I tried to make May a candy-free month, but I slipped mid-month and gave it up after that. Hi, my name is Colleen and I'm a candy-holic.

Awesome video.

Double comment here--the mag cover is beautiful!!! Your hair doesn't look greasy enough, though.

Video--crying! It moved me.

Word of caution about sugar free candy--I am trying to kick my Hershey's Kiss habit--a co-oworker keeps a full bowl of them on her desk. You would think that would be enough to curb my consumption. Nope, the only thing it does is keep me from eating 20 kisses instead of my regular 6. And I give her refills.

I bought some Baskin Robins Mint Chocolate Chip sugar free hard candies to try to reduce the fat and calories of my addiction. DO NOT EAT TO MANY!! Let's just say there is a warning on the bag of what it could do to your digestion. They mean it.

I have been looking for some sugar free chocolate gum and found this on the web:

http://www.olalafoods.com/products.htm

Searching for a supplier. Might have to order online.
Hilarious greeting card Sarah. Is that the Petersen's family photo in there with the Twix?? I love it, of course!

Um, that video? Rulage. That pretty much sums up my relationship with salty snacks. Maybe that's why I retain more water than a camel.

That video is hilarious... I mean I wish I'd thought of that concept.

Congrats on giving up the sugar... you are a better woman than I.

Love the video. How do you get so much done with two little ones? (And while trying to kick the candy, no less...)
