Teething Baby at Large
My six month old Cher has been uncommonly fussy for the past few weeks. I didn't know what was going on. It had all seemed so simple. There was the Good Child, Cher, and the Bad Child*, Pixie. Granted, Pixie's "badness" is just a factor of potty training and normal toddler stuff, but I like things black and white so they were easily shuffled away into their respective categories. But then Cher starts acting up. We tried to get some cute pictures of the family last weekend but Cher refused to put on her usual smile. Pixie was looking better and better by the minute! What was going on?
Today all was forgiven. Darling Cher's first tooth burst out of her bottom gum this morning. The world is right again. My Good Child has returned!
*"Bad Child" is a registered trademark of Hollywood Flakes, Inc. No other mother has experienced the traumas of potty training, the emotional rollercoaster of night wakings, and the exquisite agonies of colic like they have. They have a monopoly on parental woe. Yeah, you heard me.

I love the pictures anyway!
I also love Penny's hair. Is it naturally wavy like that? I want my daughters hair to look like that when we get pictures done next week.
My children were only grumpy for the first tooth, then the rest they were just a little irritable.
I hope the next ones come easier.
Just thought you should know.
Also, Charlotte's crying face is one of the best contortions I've seen a face do. Wow.
Yeah...she was right. Potty training is the hardest thing evah.
Hang in there, Amy! Don't feel bad if you cave and give it back. You'll know when it's gone too far though and you'll have no problem just letting poor James cry it out.
Yes, Lacey, that's Penny's natural hair. It hadn't been brushed for 4 days when this picture was taken but this shot seems to show it's better side.
but, I got called to nursery last week. There is a little 2 year old in there that is Charlottes IDENTICAL TWIN. I'm not kidding, she looks EXACTLY like her, its unnerving. I could probably switch them out and you would never know. Except, you know, she is 2 and your Char is 6 months.
Maybe I'll sneak some pictures next Sunday. HMM. Would that be wrong to do in nursery?
Getting your baby in a crancky, grumpy, hopeless-look mode and take a good pic of it = priceless - and heartless!?
I just added the last word to make you feel better about your motherhood skills in the years to come. It's the juggle of a Mommy's everyday life: Being good Mommy, bad Mommy. Who knows?
By the way, this kind of photos are what we called (cute) family treasures... Or a potencial black mail material for the rebel teenage years, for that matter. :)
