Potty Training Validation

Finally, someone appreciates me. As Hollywood has mentioned a time or two, we are in middle of the painful process of potty training our two year old, Pixie. In spite of our best laid plans, we have returned to rewarding her with "potty candy" for her success. A few days ago, Pixie saw me eating a piece of candy, and I witnessed one of those rare moments where she had a flash of inspiration, and everything clicked for her. "Oh, potty candy. Daddy, did you go to the potty?"
I must admit I wasn't expecting that, but since Pixie doesn't get candy unless she uses the bathroom, and I didn't want to set a bad example, I said "um, yes,"(which wasn't a lie, in the strictest sense, since I am sure I had at some point that day, and I don't recall having any "accidents.")
I watched in amazement as Pixie's previous look of inspiration morphed into utmost admiration. She smiled and gave me a huge hug and said "Oh, Daddy. I am so proud of you."
It's nice to be appreciated for the little things.
