Power Cat Nap Time

Pixie is a very particular little girl. She likes her things just so and won't stand for anything other than perfection. When she was barely one she grew very attached to a purple blanket. Then a dog she named Goofy became her best friend. Goofy then brought his puppies, Miri, Donald and Mickey into the circle of love. Pixie's heart accepted them all. Almost two years later, Pixie's entourage has grown to absurd proportions.

I've made a short film to illustrate just how bad things have gotten around here at bedtime. If not every head and fiber is accounted for, there's hell to pay. See for yourself...

I have a niece like that...we call it her entourage. Now, all of this means that she takes two blissful three hour naps a day, right?

Ah...the days of naps are over in this house. I would be glad if naps were still an option, even if I had to have all your stuffed animals PLUS Snow White and her dwarfy friends there.

Now THERE is a POST! So much fun. I feel so deprived that PJ won't be here next month. I was counting on it. But there's always Christmas, right?

Hug that little darling for me. Tell her to expect a letter in the mail from Gma. Barbara!

So cute. And she can carry a tune really well for her age. American Idol is for her, baby!

Sorry, Wiz - that wasn't Penny singing, just a CD track from some Toddler's Sing disk. A recent video I posted of her shows her singing a version of Twinkle Twinkle that would make even Paula Abdul scoff. Oh well.

I’m so glad I’m not the only one whose child has an entourage. He calls them “My friends.” That’s a little sad.

Ah, that's cute. But probably slightly annoying to you. ;) There are no nappos in this house currently (well except the 4 month old but she's not on a schedule). I actually miss the days of naps and scheduled ones at that. *sniff*

Amazing that she can even fit in there with all of her little friends. Cute video!

Penny, the precious, precocious little girl. Absolutely adorable. Is there room for one more--the little brown dog she left here?

My rule for Naomi has always been just one "friend" to bed with you. But lately I've been lax and in just a few weeks I think we've jumped to 5. So thanks for motivating me to put my foot down about going back to the original rule.

That's absolutely adorable. I guess we all have our routines :)

I was doing fine until Olive joined the crew. That one cracked me up!

Yikes! What do you do when you go on vacation with her? Please tell me that she is okay downsizing to one or two for the road?

Very similar experience with my boy. He even has a giant cat that serves as his pillow. And you should see the drama that ensues should we attempt to wash his blanket...oh boy!

Luckily for vacation we can sweet talk Penny into only taking her purple blanket and Goofy. The purple blanket is the key to the whole deal though and man, if we ever lose or have to wash that thing it's not pretty.

Penny and her peeps!
Trust me, it won't stop there. When she moves to a "big girl bed" she will get even more friends.

This is an awesome video - Nice editing! You are such a patient mom to go through that routine each time!
