Go, Cougars!

Poor Torchness, she still hasn't learned not to make a bet with a Mormon. We've got God on our side! Click HERE to see the humiliating consequence of her alma matter losing to mine in football on Saturday.

Excellent wager. Congrats! As a sister Cougar fan you might enjoy these. I posted them on my old blog intending to write about my love of the mighty Cougs over at my WordPress blog (their photo uploads are much less efficient). Only I changed my mind.

Oh and where on earth is "The Bubble?"

The Bubble" is a magical fairyland in the middle of Dallas, TX where all the people are wonderously white. The towns real name is Highland Park. The town country club is "white only" and doesn't allow Blacks or Jews membership. The County Records building still has a memorial “Whites Only Water Fountain.” When I was in high school a black family moved in and the girl came to school as the only black girl. Three months later the family moved out again because of crushing discrimination they experienced. Yes, The Bubble's powers are strong. If you are black and drive through The Bubble you WILL be pulled over by the armies of police cars patrolling the streets for "outsiders." You can imagine what it was like for my family to move there and be the first Mormons the town had experienced. I was often condemned to hell in the school hallways by peers. In short, The Bubble is a 21st century aberration of civilization. But hey, at least it's pretty, right?

I would like to state for the record, however, The Bubble, despite its many disturbing trends, is the home to many people I love and I was fortunate in high school to find a wonderful group of friends who mean the world to me. There is good everywhere and I found a ton of goodness in that town. But no, I never would move back.
