Happy Halloween!
We test drove our costumes today at Spike's work Halloween party. Everyone was supposed to have their kids come in dressed up to go trick or treating at all the offices at his firm. They didn't expect me to come dressed up too. I got a lot of wide-eyed stares with my huge hat and weird costume.
Pixie is Charlie Chaplin this year. We taught her to say "hau hau hau" like a snooty frenchie and she tips her hat. I've spent the past few weeks showing her Chaplin videos so she really has a feel for what she's doing. The funny walk, the silly smile, she's got it. I made her costume from head to toe except for the felt bowling hat. She also has a cane that goes with the costume except I hid it from her last week because she kept swinging it up in the air and now I can't remember where I hid it.
Cher and I are King Kong and the Chrysler Building. Before you purists get all up in arms, I know Kong climbed the Empire State building, not the Chrysler, but the Chrysler was so much more fun to make! Cher is holding a Barbie and is appropriately crabby in her hot gorilla suit. I bought the suit but made my costume. I have to give a big shout out to Eskinose Kisses for her comment on a previous post suggesting I turn a regular gorilla costume into Kong Takes on Manhattan. Thanks for your inspiration, Eskinose. People are loving it!

Thanks for the film clips as well. Brought back memories of big brother, who as a kid, had Chaplin as a hero and his routines down. He would often dance, act, and actually entertain us at the dinner table with his "shoes". It's a good memory. Thanks.
On another note, from your previous post, I thought Charlotte was going to be an ewok. As hilarious as that was....I really like King Kong as well. Y'all are a great set! Now what is Adam going to be, a policeman?
Is that the U$ 24,95 Barbie doll that you just bought it? Hmmm... yes, it is.
I'm so glad you dressed up too. I got a lot of stares at the Halloween costume party for our church. Since when is it "uncool" for an adult to dress up? We've all got the kid excitement about changing our face to the world every now and then.
I love you! and penny and char and adam too of course
You are CLEVER and Penny is adorable...
Also, for the record, I love both your girls names--Charlotte was my first choice for my pregnancy (if this would have been a girl) and Penny was also one of my favorites.
