Baby Do's and Don'ts

Some days I'm the funniest thing on the planet, other days I get real and realize there are MUCH funnier things out there than little old me. Maren over at Dori's Diner posted these pictures from the book, Safe Baby Handling Tips on her blog and I had no choice but to pass them along. Please tell me you laughed too - I can't be the only sicko out there. But the REAL question is, how many of these safety violations have you actually made? I have to admit to one or two of these. I'm not saying which.

Hysterical laughter from me and Hubby when we saw it yesterday.

Hysterical!!

That's freakin' hysterical! And I have to admit to doing a few myself. Putting baby to bed in a dresser drawer totally came in handy at a hotel once, but I at least put the drawer on the floor. And who doesn't pick their baby's nose? I won't give myself away on any of the others.

I would guess....

1. Nose picking (doesn't everyone do that sometime)

2. Baby sleeping in the drawer, only you use a shower/bathtub

3. chewing on the shoe

The rest just scare me... :)

This was freaky funny.
But some of those I swear are ok. Like the dryer one. I've done that while nanny-ing.
OMG totally kidding.

One of my friends got that book as a baby shower present. The whole thing is so hilarious I shed tears of laughter every time.

p.s. I just showed my husband and he cried from laughing too.

Bro Mark and Hubby Mark and I just hooted and hollered for like 10 minutes. I'm guilty of the "NO" for testing bottle, cleaning nose, and shopping with baby. Also checking the diaper, but accidentally.

Very funny... I like one where the baby's being palmed like a basketball.

I'll admit it, I've picked my daughter's nose with my own finger. And I wish the nursing baby one could be reversed!

Um, I think I failed this test. Can I have a redo?

Those are hysterical!! I've done a few of them too.

I can't stop laughing!!!! I have only done one of those things, pick my baby's nose with my finger and I get great satisfaction out of it. I was shopping at Kohls, the infant carrier was in the top and my baby was sitting in the front stroller type seat which is very low. Two different employees (behind high counters) looked at the infant carrier piled 2 ft high with clothes and asked horrified if my baby was under all of it. How stupid do they think people are? But I guess it does happen.

I laughed so hard I cried reading that. Absolutely priceless. I think I'll buy that one and the Safe Baby Pregnancy Tips too, just to see what it recommends.

The baby in the fishtank reminds me of the time our baby crocodile got out of it's tank...and fell into the playpen with my infant son.

I made my four year old get it out. No way I was touching that thing.

Are you kidding, Susan!? A baby alligator fell into the crib? That's just Keee-razy. I hope you were on hand to see it happen rather than being alerted to the fact by little severed fingers flying across the room. Wow. Wow wow.
Susan M said…
Yeah I saw it happen. The croc's mouth was only an inch long, couldn't have done any damage. Or much.

I moved the baby's playpen after that.

Too funny. I started laughing out loud right around the one where dad's trying to breastfeed baby.

Thanks for the laugh!

Just another example of how the nanny-state is trying to usurp the parenting duties and mold our children into their undisciplined, unlearned, "high self-esteemed" minions. After reading this I personally picked my baby up by the head, just to stick it to the man.

A friend of mine posted this on her myspace a couple days ago... LOL As someone in the field of education/early childhood... I never laughed so hard!

Ummm...I count 7. Yeah...7 things that I have done on the NO side.

Can anyone top that? ;-)

Oh my goodness! Too funny. I admit to doing a couple of those - but, like you, I ain't saying which.
OK, fine. I admit it. I put my baby in the dryer on a regular basis. He gets so warm and fluffy!

That was hilarious. I just found your blog and am loving it.

Freaking hilarious! My husband just came over to see what I was laughing at. I showed him this post, and he asked who's blog it was. I actually said "my friend hollywood" (insert real name here) As if we've even met before! I guess I need to stop interacting with the cyber-world, and start socializing in the "real" world! Thanks for the laugh

I'm feeling the love, sugar&spice! In 2008, cyberfriends are just as good as the "real" ones. I'm glad to be able to make you laugh :) And who knows, maybe we have met somewhere.
Oh my gosh - so funny! First time stopping by, and this was great!

I think the only one I've done is throwing baby in the air...
