Grand Opening of My Toy Shop: Flaky Friends

My shop is open!! I have put a link to it in the right sidebar so all my new stuff will always be showing on the site. Now I just have to sit back and see what happens. Spike asked me last night if I would cry if nothing sold. The answer is yes. Let's pray!

Here's the shop address for anyone not TOTALLY sick of hearing about my toys.

I just opened up my own etsy shop too. I have heard the secret is to list things often...not to just stock your store and let it sit. So, relist things over and over. It might help. I think they are adorable!
Good Luck...
Kati

I love your stuffed animals. They are so cute! I would buy one but they are more than I can afford right now. I would definately buy at least one sometime-especially if they cost a little less. The skunk is my favorite.

Random comment: your etsy shop is the second hit on google for "flying pig graduation" ;)
So does the price you list include the shipping?

Kati, your shop is looking great! I love the vinyl wall decorations. How do you do that?

So I'm trying to figure out who my market would be for these animals. Hopefully my market will find me since I have no clue where to search for them.

Silly, $29 is the base price plus $4.99 for priority shipping. Are my prices too high? I had actually listed them for higher but the lowered it when reality struck. The problem is that they are SO valuable to me and there really is no way anyone will ever pay me what they are worth to me. I have to let go a little bit and just get a selling price rather than a sentimental price.

Sar, the fluffy ones are super cute. If you make lots of $$$$ buy a ticket and come and see me. Bring the girls.

I enjoyed checking out your etsy shop. I've thought about opening one up too, someday. Your animals are cute and fun!

BTW, I checked out what you wrote on Mormon Mommy Wars...and I have to give an AMEN! Our Stake also heard that talk last week. (I'm in Orange County) I only have 3 kids, because it's all I could physically have. Someone at church told me I was "slacker!" I don't think it's anyone's business how many kids they have--Mormon or anyone.

My poor daughter is living in Utah, just got married in July. People in her ward are starting to ask questions. Why are they waiting. Drives me nuts! (she has some physical problems she needs to get handled before she can start a family, but that's no ones business either) I'm going to tell her to copy that talk and bring in out when she needs to too!

Sorry for this rant. Had to get it off my chest! Thanks for your post.

I was in such a hurry to rush over to your shop and heart you (to keep an eye on things) that I forgot to comment earlier today. Congrats! So glad to have you be part of the Etsy community. Good luck!

I *love* them all, but especially the hedgehog. The little pig is a close second. :) I'm saving up to buy one.
As much as I love them (and I do) I just couldn't foresee myself paying $34 total for a little stuffed animal. I understand, though, why you'd price it as such. The material costs for handmade items can be pricey and they can be time consuming to make. Taking everything into consideration it's a good deal, but I just couldn't bring myself to pay it regardless.

Glad to see you lowered the prices.

I know - I'm so excited about it! It's some random person who bought the white cat because I guess it looked like hers. Let's hope this is the first of many. I made a really funky cow toy today that I put in my shop that just might scare everyone away!

Dear Aunt Hollywood,

I really like your fluffy white kitty. It reminds me of a kitty I have at home. I like all of the funny descriptions on your website. I am really impressed that you could make all of those stuffed animals and that you thought of all of the designs on your own. I never knew you were such an artist. Love, Chelsea
